Raised in Georgia, I proudly hold two Bachelor's degrees from the University of Georgia. I later pursued law school in North Carolina, which is not only where I sharpened my legal skills but also where I met my husband. We have since settled in Gastonia, North Carolina, and are raising our three wonderful children here.
During my law school years, I actively participated in legal clinics and internships, dedicating my time to various pro bono programs that supported our community's seniors and first responders by preparing crucial estate planning documents.
After law school, I began my career at the Gaston County Public Defender's Office, first as an intern and then, upon my admission to the North Carolina State Bar in 2017, as a Public Defender for four years. In this role, I represented and defended the rights of countless individuals, ensuring justice and fair treatment under the law. My journey in public service was instrumental in developing my advocacy skills and deepening my commitment to legal aid.
Subsequently, I transitioned to a private law firm, focusing on estate planning and special proceedings, further honing my experience in these areas. Driven by a passion to provide personalized and thorough legal services, I founded Kanwisher Law, PLLC.
I am an active member of the North Carolina State Bar and Gaston County Bar Association where I served as an officer on the board for 4 years, reflecting my commitment to our local legal community. Outside the office, I cherish family time, engage in DIY home projects, and enjoy exploring new destinations with friends and loved ones.
At Kanwisher Law, PLLC, I am dedicated to leveraging my extensive experience to meet your legal needs with the utmost professionalism and care. Let's work together to ensure your legal rights are protected and your wishes are honored.
